No matter what i do the public.tv channel refuses to play. I've tried the fix button, reloading firefox, using chrome instead, resetting the router, updating the software, refreshing the page and yet im stuck on the aelua video. I even tried copy pasting the code that popped up that said "you cant loggin from chat so this will fix it" and it didnt. Any thoughts?
is this still the case and is anyone else facing this? can you play youtube videos outside of public.tv?
public.tv is playing fine for me at the moment. all i can think of is scripts/plugins but i'll see if xix has done any updates recently that might have broken tv for you.

Some insight:
If retain a room, a person appears to already be in it, but there's no one in it. You go in, you leave, it goes back to zero. (I still can't explain 1 person always being in public.rank10, but I'm sure the phantom limbo people are either "me"'s or people with botched logouts.
However, once the room retain is used up, the room and roombot are here to stay, and if it's a tv room, it no longer works as a tv room, but just a regular room.
As such, is it that we must wait out the rest of the day to be able to re-retain the room again without the bug happening?

ONCE THE RETAIN ENDS, IT BREAKS. Normally, the bot leaves or you can reg retain defenestrate, or re-retain, but it doesn't fix it, but rather a reinforced retained bugged regular room.
TL;DR- improper auto-room clearance upon end of retain amount.
How to fix? Look into the whole "room needing to disappear" thing
Or we could just login an alt and tv load the broken room everytime.

So I typed my wetgenes password along with "King" and updated it and that did not work. Then I tried Typing in the same administrative password and clicked the bottom update button. Nope. I then tried typing in the same password and clicked Reset. Nope. I tried typing in the password associated with my email (phantomuppercut). Nope. I tried using the master password for logging into my computer. Nope.
I conclude the specify new email address does not work, it is a trap. Fix it?

If you don't want to give it one then you can install a java sdk, clone the aelua source http://code.google.com/p/aelua/source/checkout then cd to apps/boot-str and run ./upload.lua nameofapptoinstall

JDK is Java Development Toolkit? Easy to obtain but on my 64-bit install I had to place it in the x86 and 64bit install paths to get things going for other apps.
People have been noting new TV goes into an endless reloading loop and either doesn't allow them into chat with no TV or allows them in the chat but the TV stays in a reload loop ( No video player loads in both instances) My persona workaround for this is to join Ville and let the player there load then return to New TV and all is well for a day or two. Not sure why this happens, something to do with an expired cookie or the TV applet?

First time I have seen this but maybe it is a known bug.
I came across it when it was doing this. Apparenty it had been doing this for hours.
It just kept reloading the video over and over and showing the suggestions screen at the end of videos.
This is clearly a nonissue because when prompted to play a random video with reg horse it played a blip and got out of whatever state it was in.

Crowns seem to be there when typing reg crowns, but in reality "reg status" only gives +1 crown. This happens to athens and other players as well.

Sorry I know its bad but that script needs to have an email and password of an account that can update the app.
I'm just using a remote installed gae-sdk and running the standard install methods see http://code.google.com/p/aelua/source/browse/php/upload.php if you want to know exactly what you are running.
If you don't want to give it one then you can install a java sdk, clone the aelua source http://code.google.com/p/aelua/source/checkout then cd to apps/boot-str and run ./upload.lua nameofapptoinstall
However this will again ask for an email and password, so only slightly more secure

You need to install the JDK to be able to build java apps.
On debian an "aptitude search JDK" will let you see if "default-jdk" is installed.
Fresh install of library's probably will help.

Entirely possible the prebuilt binaries are bad for you, I have not tested them very much on different systems.
People have been noting new TV goes into an endless reloading loop and either doesn't allow them into chat with no TV or allows them in the chat but the TV stays in a reload loop ( No video player loads in both instances) My persona workaround for this is to join Ville and let the player there load then return to New TV and all is well for a day or two. Not sure why this happens, something to do with an expired cookie or the TV applet?
Been said to exist across multiple browsers, Opera FF, Chrome, IE etc. I can reproduce it in FF v3.6
Also video/sound should stop playing in the background when you turn the display off.
