i like what i see in Fran Bow then it dawned on me that it reminded me of an old pc point&click, Emily Enough which started me on the path of abandonware games, consuming everything in its path.
differences aside, i find it intriguing that Fran Bow is deemed as endearing and charming when Emily Enough, which tackles very similar topics and presented in very similar ways, comes attached with over-the-top warning labels (to the point of being offensive) by those that play and review the game. i assume it has something to do with "black humour" that is found in the latter but surely it can't be true?
personally, i found Emily Enough charming *because* of the humour quotient (and probably the only reason i played it).
anyway, this wasn't that long ago , circa 2006, but even then the internet was a much different beast than it is now. now, i don't know what it is.
play them from these respective sites:

i'm also pleasantly surprised these sites still exist, especially when sites like gog.com (is this the only one of its kind?) ultimately makes abandonware games no longer the case since the publishers now see them as viable income all over again.
