Sadly this is all just youtube trying to break things.
I'm going to have a look at trying to do some clever fixes and possibly add alternative video sources in the process.
Right now the problem seems to be titles are reported intentionally wrong by the old data API and duration has gone even more squify than normal (same API) so I'm going to try and avoid the API...
But please if you can describe or show exactly what is going wrong that would be a great help.
tv operates normally except for reg's understanding of a video's length and a couple voodoo things
We seem to have returned to a more common tv break where reg thinks all video are 10 seconds long and videos can only be watched longer than 10s by putting the video being watched in the lotto so that when reg imagines the video end has arrived at 10s, reg attempts to play the video from the lotto and being the same video somehow makes the video continue playing with a 10 second timelock looping.
Every now and then I've been seeing the youtube device support tv break where reg seems to think all vids are 236 seconds long, but lately the 236 break has accompanied the change in the tides, but the last couple days have been much 10 second breaks and occasional normal reg tv info.
Here are some examples
**reg You are watching _-O0aleFnvs as requested by DROSS**
-= This video is timelocked for 204 more seconds but your video has been added to the next video lottery. Please wait for the timelock to end to see if you win, spaming will no longer help you. =-
///////// ^here i insert the now playing video into the lotto"
DROSS: tv info
**reg You are watching _-O0aleFnvs for 14 of 10 seconds. (locked 10 secs)**
A couple minutes after that is between 50-90% of the videos the 236 appears also
DROSS: tv info
**reg You are watching oTmxm5teQjk "https://youtube.com/devicesupport" for 6 of 236 seconds. (locked 394 secs)**
So reg seems to think some videos are the devicesupport video and gives them the 236 length, but when reg loses even that there isn't a video title in the "reg You are watching"
DROSS: tv play gee
**reg You are watching B1OUaMUzNHw "지지지지지" as requested by DROSS**
//////^ here reg understands the video, the you are watching text displays both the video code and title.
DROSS: tv sux
**reg takes 8 cookies from DROSS for a FAIL.**
**reg You are watching 85W5rIc1sgY "https://youtube.com/devicesupport"**
/////^here reg plays the video but gets the video length and title from the 236 video
DROSS: tv play dONlBATQYz8
**reg You are watching dONlBATQYz8 as requested by DROSS**
////^ from the you are watching message only containing the video watch code with no "title", we can assume it is doing the 10 second glitch.
The 10 second and 236 video's have pro's and con's, but both can be watched beyond the imagined title by putting the now playing video in the lotto. This does make it so timeskipping can't be done beyond what reg thinks the video's length is.
Many long videos are considered to be only 10 seconds, somewhere was a blip supposed to occur, which substitutes the video in progress.
Good luck with renovating video recognition. I say this because I know how much everyone loves their videos being broken up as much as watching KAM's 4 hour sailor moon playthroughs. Seriously, KAM's videos aren't glitched, absolutely horrendous, I know, it urges a change....
Maybe we can use it amidst the jiggling of video playlist science.
Or bring back old WetV, even if it doesn't fix the problem.
wetv is filled with ghosts
