There's this cool lookin' free to play thing on the STeam
it has old compooter graphics , something ZX Spectrum, somewhat well identifiable, but it is cute lookin and allright maybe why don't y'll take a gander ; * )
It's all the ufn with the convenience of chat rooms. Playing a few games will rapidly teach you strategies and concepts integral to the game, like chess strategies.
One difference between it and shadow is that the most common medic role doesn't die when they protect a victim of an attack. This leads to starting night detective roles will "claim" their role and call for the doc to stay anonymous and go on them. One risky but popular mafia/occult strategy is to "counter claim" and say your investigation showed someone to be innocent/villager. These kind of strategies are known by the whole player base so it's an elevated form of the same kind of plain silver tongued group manipulation, but elevated like on a rickety wooden structure you lay platforms on with every word.
It's pretty fun. It's very early in development to be paying such a tag, but with the promise of more to come, it should be pretty good when it's finished.
Zombies don't respawn outside of a server reset and are rare outside of towns/bases/etc. due to the fact they clip through walls and floors etc. so there is literally nowhere to hide. You kill them or you run.
Server reset also refreshes all loot to be found, most of which hasn't been given a function yet. But hey, it's early times. I can keep my bundles of rope, handcuffs and portable gas stove for later. If you are in or near a millitary base or hospital, you basically struck a goldmine. Just be careful other players aren't headed your way.
You start out with clothes and a torch. You can find rotten fruit very commonly, as it can poison you instead of actually getting rid of hunger. Soda cans, Water bottles, Cereal, Rice, Canned food, fresh fruit etc. are less common but will be the best thing you can come across after you get some gear you don't want to lose. As a friend of mine says, "If you can find fresh fruit, you are a god amongst men."
Millitary bases are where the fun is at. They have the weapons and gear, so expect a lot of players around them. And the general rule people have is "Shoot first, loot corpses later". If you have gear, you're a target. Generally speaking.
All road signs are in Russian, which means if you're in skype/teamspeak/etc, meeting up with your team can be troublesome at times. For me, it only added to the fun of "When I find you I am going to punch you in the head". (Tip: You can knock someone unconscious with one punch to the head. Be careful about that.)
Vehicles aren't implemented yet, and while weapons are common, the variation still leaves a lot to be desired. There are attatchments, but with every base I've gone to having at least 3 M4A1s there's not too much excitement in that regard.
if you want a taster, they are selling the ARMA II which you'll need for the DayZ mod for 6 quid along with other games released by the same developer - https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly

if you want to play werewolves (or any card game, really) offline during parties, on your own, with your loved ones, this looks fun.
It's a cool "party" game, but if you want to git gud, I recomend playing an online version also.

A spaghetti-dropping simulator.
